Modern Farmhouse Décor
I grew up on a farm, and of course, that included living in an old farmhouse. The décor, the style, the gadgets—that are now trendy—were just common and necessary items for any farm family.
It was just our way of life—farm life.
Now, the way of life that I grew up around (and didn’t know that there was anything stylish about it) is a much sought-after look for home décor.
So if you are looking to re-model your old farmhouse, or building a new home and want to add some of these modern farmhouse elements to it, I’m going to take you through some of the must-have items for every Modern Farmhouse:
A barn door really brings out the modern farmhouse theme. This barn door is incorporated in the kitchen and slides to cover the walk-in pantry.
Metal flour canisters, a metal base for the water jar, and tall metal farm-style stools are traditional farm-style items that look great, even in a modern kitchen.
Claw Foot Tub
While this free-standing, clawfoot tub used to be the only option, it is now a beautiful accent to help carry the modern farmhouse look throughout the home
Apron Front Sink with High-Arc Faucet
Every little detail matters…
Wood and Stone Hearth
Whitewashed wood and stacked stone create a new, yet traditional, look for a Modern Farmhouse. And I’m sure you notice the metal accents again…
Such a simple, inexpensive way to add to the Modern Farmhouse look…throw pillows.
Additionally, a wooden beam has been used to create a seat in the coat room and wire baskets easily slide underneath the seat for extra storage.
Bring the Outdoors Inside
Old lanterns, pictures of nature, and plants add a nice farmhouse touch…
Animal Pattern Rug
The cow-pattern rug is a nice traditional farm accent to the very modern colors and feel of the sofa and chair…
Large Porch and Rocking Chairs
What farmhouse would be complete without a porch and rocking chairs??
What other accents would you add to achieve the Modern Farmhouse look?
